Hi Rob,
I'm guessing that you didn't get them sent yesterday as you would have posted here?
I'm back on Monday but as there's no post that day then aiming to have it with me any day from Tuesday onwards would be fine if that's ok with you?

If all goes to plan, will be shipping Thursday for delivery Friday. Please note the earlier comment about not plugging it straight it!
Also, those of you with multiple units, please pay attention to the ID/Instructions on the units!
Thanks,
Rob

Saw your posting on Facebook...
Any joy with finding out what happened to the parcels or getting replacements sent out?

Thanks Rob,
And apologies - re-reading my last post it comes across
as a bit terse which is not the way it was intended
Must have been a right pain for you the originals going
missing - not to mention expensive until the post office
presumably reimburse you?
I'll be more patient in future!

Ross, my friend,
No apologies - couldn't get much more terse than my three word
response!! I was trying to get everything packed, serials stored,
labels printed and dispatched for a 4PM cut-off - so if anyone should
apologise it's me! (didn't make it BTW).
For the benefit of those who didn't see the Facebook post, I sent 14
parcels via Royal Mail Special Delivery, IR units + some extras, all in
one transaction. Got home, started compiling "on It's way" email to
you all, along with tracking reference. Inadvertently clicked on of the
tracking codes - computer says 'error'. Odd, maybe not in the
system yet - sometimes takes an hour or so to catchup. 2 hours later,
same problem - with all the tracking codes. Post office closed. Still
not working following morning, so I trek to the post office.
The lady who I had dealt with the previous day was serving - I
explained the problem - she tried a trace using the receipts she had
printed - error - invalid reference! I have receipts for 14 items, none
of which exist apparently :-( Whilst pondering this with lady & her
manager, 4 other people arrived with same problem. Only 'shared
link' that we could find was all transactions went through same
terminal (different staff over the course of the day) .............terminal
which now (day after posting) was out-of-action, awaiting service /
replacement.
They are, from what I could tell, dumb / thin clients (terminals, not
people), but still.........
So, they've opened an investigation - at the conclusion of which I will
hopefully retrieve the vanished units, or the insurance! Staff were
great, but genuinely couldn't figure it out, or give me an ETA on
timescale.
So, Yes, very inconvenient & rather expensive overall.
However - these problems are mine - you've all paid in good faith,
and *will* get your controller(s) Tuesday / Wednesday, depending on
when I get to the post office / If I can send via UPS instead.
Thank you for your understanding; looks like 2012 has it in for me
too!
Emails & Parcels with you ASAP.
Rob

Cheers Rob,
Sounds like they will be lying in a depot somewhere
waiting for someone to look at them because the tracking
code is wrong - along with the things sent by the others
on the same day.
You'd think they would be able to find them pretty easily
but then I guess that's the post office for you!
Hope they give you something for the inconvenience
caused!

Hi All,
I was told they had been located on Tuesday
On Thursday I entered tracking codes to check all was well. "Unknown
Reference" ...... Spoke to the person who had called me on Tuesday --
turns out their tracking system indicated they were in Caerphilly (where
they were posted) -- nobody physically checked -- so they had been
'located', but not 'found' !! (Though as the external tracking system
denies all knowledge, I think I may have been ...misled on Tuesday)..
That explains why I didn't post replacements -- which will most likely
be Monday now.
Apologies, though beyond my control.

Ok, all IR hardware re-sent today. Should arrive by 13:00 tomorrow!
Remember, please don't plug them in until *after* installing the driver,
which I'll provide in the Alpha Forum!
Thanks,
Rob

Hi All.
Apologies for the delay, and thanks for your patience.
A very poorly GrandMother had to take precedence. She is recovering
well :-)
Back to business.
Has anyone who paid, not received their transceiver(s)? If so, please let
me know ASAP.
Is there anyone else out there who has expressed interest, but not been
invited? If so, again please let me know ASAP.
I intend to open the forum to testers, and get drivers uploaded this
week. Time allowing, I'll also put up a very basic test app, so you can at
least see the little black box do something!! As before, please do not
plug the transceiver in before installing the driver I send!
Thank you once again for your patience,
Rob.
